MARGIE FRIEDMAN / Producer & Director

Margie Friedman is an Emmy award winning producer, director and writer who began her career in news and has gone on to produce numerous primetime and cable series and specials. As VP of Development for a television production company she developed shows for the National Geographic Channel, The History Channel, WE, Travel Channel, TLC and E! Margie is familiar with the impact of music as the Co-Producer of the Mickey Mouse Club (Disney Channel), Supervising Producer of “Popstars” (WB) and Senior Talent Producer for “Star Search” (CBS). She received an Emmy as Supervising Producer for the public television series “Your Turn to Care.” A graduate of UCLA Department of Film and Television, Margie received the “Jim Morrison Film Award.”

Shana Hagan has photographed dozens of documentary and narrative films and shot countless hours of documentary and reality-based television programs. Her documentary work includes Ken Burn’s current film, “Vietnam”, “Queen of Versailles” (2012 Sundance selection), Jessica Yu’s “Breathing Lessons”, which won an Oscar for Best Documentary Short; “Shakespeare Behind Bars”, which aired on the Sundance Channel; Sundance Film Festival Special Jury Prize winner “After Innocence; Michael Apted’s “Married in America”; Kirby Dick’s “This Film is Not Yet Rated”; and the PBS-broadcast “Sunset Story” and “Homeland.” Shana’s credits also include “Parks and Recreation” (NBC), “The Living Museum” for HBO, the Emmy winning “Stardust: The Bette Davis Story”, the two-hour “Georgia O’Keeffe” Biography for A&E, two National Geographic Specials, three seasons of NBC’s “The Apprentice” and three seasons of “Survivor” (Panama, Cook Islands and Fiji).

Michael is the owner of Outpost Worldwide, a full-service production company in Kansas City that has provided technical production services to Fremantle, Turner, Univision, ESPN, Nickelodeon and Dish Network. The company has also produced numerous documentaries including, “The Barber’s Diaries”, “Let Freedom Ring: The Lesson in Priceless” and “Let Freedom Ring: Memories of France.

Joanne has edited numerous documentaries including “Broken Rainbow” (Academy Award: Feature Documentary”, “Witness to a Dream”, “Black Tide” (Emmy nominated), and “Reno’s Kids: 87 days +11.” She’s also edited many network and cable television series and movies including “Starting Over”(NBC), “Crossing Jordan” (NBC), “State of Grace”(Fox Family Channel), “Parenthood” (NBC), and “One True Love” (Lifetime).



DAVID GRABIAS / Consulting Producer

David, the founder of Artifact Studios in Los Angeles, is an award-winning documentary filmmaker. His films include “Sentenced Home”, “Uncovered,” and “Centralia.” He was nominated for an Emmy for Discovery Channel’s “Why Dogs Smile and Chimpanzees Cry.” David has directed for PBS, A & E, Discovery, FX, Travel Channel and National Geographic.
